Normally in Linux we'll develop our web application with FF. Probably you'll found more that of browser but most of having high characteristic with FF. Now we can test our web program/Ajax/Javascript with Google chrome, which having very difference code base and we no need to keep switching between Linux and Windows.

To install it in Ubuntu Linux, follow this step by step:

Can any one help me in executing ajax application,i have html and php whats next? i have good grip in java programming,but i am new to ajax. I have a html file and a php file ,i know how to manage with servlets using tomcat server,but i don't where to locate the php file in tom cat server can any one give me a solution pleas?

first of all, PHP and Java is totally difference programming languages. normally we won't run PHP from tomcat (we prefered apache2) unless you have special requirement. Java have own method to execute AJAX. If you really want to run PHP script in tomcat here is the reference:

Practically in all kind of programming, we will call a javascript AJAX library like jQuery.
